Between 2020 and 2022, I took several "Teach the Teacher" classes, along with a referee class, to ensure I could provide my students with accurate rules and quality instruction.
In October 2022, I completed a 6-hour class (3 hours of lecture and 3 hours of court time) and passed a test to become an IPTPA Certified Instructor.
With my past coaching experiences and the pickleball courses I've taken, I learned valuable techniques from various instructors that helped me create a quality class. Additionally, I incorporated a teaching system that I now call the P.O.W.E.R. Formula. The acronym P.O.W.E.R. helps players remember how to improve their ball control during games.
You might be wondering what P.O.W.E.R. stands for, to find out you'll just have to attend one of my P.O.W.E.R. Formula classes. For now, I will share the first component: "P" stands for Pendulum Swing. The pendulum swing is the fundamental swing that all pickleball players should be using as its the foundation upon which all other skills are built.
